Blinks 2 announced

Blinks 2 for the PC is coming! That's right, your favorite little blinky-eyed ocean creatures are making another appearance in a new game that's better than ever!

Here are some things you can expect:

Breeding takes on a whole new importance. In this new version, you'll have to test out your blink breeding skills with all sorts of colors! Combine the colors of Blinks by encouraging them to breed, and get an outcome that matches their colors!(Eg. Red Blink + Blue Blink = Purple Blink)

Go fish! There's a new way to get more Blinks. Go to the blinks' ocean homeland with your trusty fishing rod and plunge right in. You'll start seeing Blinks quickly, but if you're patient, you might see even rarer ones. Keep the blinks you catch in your trusty ponds and let them go when you need to.

More everything. Although it's not even to the beta stage yet, I plan on adding more of EVERYTHING. more things to buy, more achievements, more Blinks experience.

Of course, Blinks 2 will be free online and for download on PCs - sorry Mac users, if I could make it mac compatible I would in an instant. It's a huge burden to have it only Windows compatible - less customers :(

A little update

Hey everyone. Not much to update on, since the game is already out, but just letting you know that Pearapps and I have made up. We're not exactly great friends, but we don't hate each other anymore. He's still putting time into updating Blinks even after I made the PC version, which I have to give him credit for. So don't be mean to Pear, since we're all good now!

Wahoo! Blinks has been released!

WAAAAA-HOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Blinks is finally released, after months of hard work, to the public! :D

Description: Once upon a time, in a land far underwater, lived little tiny creatures called Blinks. They swam and played and lived naturally... until you came along. Now, you can help the Blinks succeed in life or cruelly abuse them in this long-awaited game from nGen games! Call Blinks to the water or send them away as you wish. Pet them or hit them to earn mean points or nice points, which you can use to buy all sorts of cool unlockables from the fully-functional store! There are also several achievements that make playing the game fun and challenging. How will you treat your Blinks?

Computer Blinks Official promo and new info on release

Yep, that's right - Blinks will be released anytime from tomorrow to New Years! The game is coming along amazing and I can't wait for it to be done! You guys are gonna love it, it's packed full of features!

More sneak peeks!

As the game gets better, and the release gets closer, I decided I had to show a little more of what's going on since a lot of things have been improved.

In this picture, one humble blink swims about. Remember, you can have up to ten Blinks on screen at a time!

As you can see, I have bought all the features in this pic. This is STILL not all the features that will be unlockable on release! There are also some backgrounds towards the bottom, which there will also be more of. Look, the Blinks logo is winking at me! XD


Look, I'm petting this Blink. Even though you can't see it now, the animations, such as the petting, are smoother.

3 words... OM NOM NOM.


Woah! everything is on. And what is with the falling snow? What's peering out of that cave??? It sure looks hungry...

Yikes! I guess the cave creature IS pretty hungry.

Our little blink friend has encountered a grenade and is not quite sure what to do with it. And no, that's not a monocle, it's a bubble, although it is quite funny :)

Contest troubles

Sorry about the background contest being a huge letdown! Pearapps let us all down. If he had let me help judge you guys would know who won by now. But you'll probably never know now as he wouldn't let me even see the entries that I didn't see elsewhere.

So, contest enter-ers(word?), here is your chance to shine! I am working on the background part of Blinks the game and I really want to see your backgrounds! Please send them to ME ONLY at pcpliam@yahoo.com and I will include as many of them as I can in the game. However there is a slight problem, the window in Blinks is slightly(by slightly I mean A LOT) larger than the iPod, so if you could enlarge the background to 640px wide by 550px high and make it look good It would save me a lot of work and make it easier for me to include your entry.


Again sorry for the letdown. And if you want to complain about it, don't. Pearapps has enough to worry about without Blinks fans bombarding him...

In need of Beta Testers

Hello! I'm looking for some people who would like to have a part in the development of Blinks and beta test. There are already several beta testers and they've given good feedback so I want to see what others think of Blinks as I continue to develop it! Here are the only requirements:

1. You must have a Windows system. Sorry macs, the files won't be supported on your computer til release! Of course an exception is if you have BootCamp or another Windows emulator on your Mac. I have a beta tester like that(Cameron/JamesBond007 from PGF if you know him) and he can run the game fine.
2. You have to have a yahoo email. So far it's the only email provider that seems to let betas download the game files. I don't really know what exact other providers work, but I do know for certain that AOL and Gmail do not work.

And that's it! I hope some people are interested in being beta testers and helping to shape the game with feedback!

Plus, here's a sneak peek. Sometimes Blinks can get a little too hungry, and will resort to eating their young.
